Group Classes 
  • Group classes are taught by Skate Canada certified coaches with the aid of our Program Assistants.
  • Skaters are divided into groups of 8 to 10 skaters according to their skating ability
  • The program consists of 6 badges with each badge divided into 3 sections.
  • The program focuses on fun and continuous movement

Patinage Plus 3-5 (PP3-5) (skater must be age 3 as of September 30 of the skating year)
 
Requirements:
  • CSA approved hockey helmet is mandatory (new rule from Skate Canada - 2011)
  • Warm pant, sweater/coat, water resistant gloves/mitts
  • Properly fitted and sharpened skates
  • Do not chew gum
  • Hair tied back
  • It is mandatory that a parent (or other responsible adult) stay in the arena while their child is on the ice.
  • Parents are not permitted to take their children, with their skates on, in their arms.

Patinage Plus 5+ (PP 5+) (skater must be age 5 as of September 30 of the skating year)

Requirements:
  • CSA approved hockey helmet is mandatory (new rule from Skate Canada - 2011)
  • Uniform is required:
    • blue skirt (girls) & blue pants (boys)
      • On-line price at time of registration = $25 each (all purchases made after will be $30 each, no exceptions).
      • This is yours to keep
    • White sweatshirt with the colour logo of the club.
      • A cost of $20 each.
      • This is yours to keep
    • Beige leotards (girls) – you can purchase in any skating or dance boutique.
  • Gloves/mitts

  • Hair tied back

Star Group (skater must have completed badge 6 – no age requirement) 

Skaters must have achieved badge 6 to skate in this program. Star Group are semi-private lessons that take place twice per week with a ratio of 5 to 6 students per coach and an assistant coach. The Friday class concentrates on freestyle elements and the Sunday class concentrate on both dance and skill patterns.

Requirements:
  • Must wear appropriate skating attire (skating skirt, skating dress, tights or leggings) - no jeans
  • For boys; appropriate skating pants and shirt – no jeans
  • Wear gloves
  • Do not chew gum
  • Hair tied back

Stroking and Perfectionnement
  • This program is offered to all skaters who have achieved badge 2 or higher.
  • It is designed to improve skating skills and improve skating speed.  The stroking program will help each skater reach their own personal objectives.
  • A maximum of 25 skaters per group based on a 'first come, first served' basis.
  • Skaters work with 2 professional coaches who will help them reach their personal potential.
  • These groups present a number in the ice show at the end of the year

Requirements:
  • PP5+ skaters must have passed badge 2
  • Groups are determined by completed freestyle test
  • All skaters must be registered as a full time CPA Brossard skater

Private Lessons

Skaters must make arrangements directly with a Skate Canada certified coach who appears on our CPA Brossard Coaches List.  Be advised that these arrangements must be made before the start of the season in accordance with your child’s skating schedule.  You are responsible for paying all coaching costs directly to the coach.

Skating Levels:
  • Pre-Preliminary:
    • Skater must have completed badge 6
    • Skater must have no freestyle test passed
    • No age requirement
  • Preliminary :
    • Skater must have completed both parts of the Preliminary freestyle test
    • No age requirement
  • Junior Bronze :
    • Skater must have completed both parts of the Junior Bronze freestyle test
    • No age requirement
  • Senior :
    • Skater must have completed both parts of the Senior Bronze freestyle test
    • No age requirement

Parcel Tickets

At times, a skater may, for different reasons want to skate on a block they are not registered for (ie. when a test or competition is coming up). If this is the case, the skater must purchase parcel tickets and give it to the ice captain before the block they wish to skate on. Parcel tickets are sold in singles and sets of 5 or 10. They are sold at a cost of $5.00 per ticket. These tickets are transferable and reimbursable if they are not used. Please contact the Director of Ice Captains to purchase.
 
Projet Scolaire

Projet Scolaire are open blocks and free to CPA Brossard skaters only, who are registered as full time members.

Requirements:
  • Patinage Plus badge 4 and up with their coach and in a lesson
  • Star Group with their coach on the ice
  • Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Junior Bronze & Senior

Synchronized Skating

CPA Brossard is part of the Nova synchronized skating club.
